Restorative Bodywork CE

Dates: May 3rd & May 4th - 9am-5pm

Restorative Bodywork is a combination of relaxing and supported yoga poses with hands on massage. Each pose is held for around 5 minutes while a massage therapist comes around and performs therapeutic massage on different parts of the body. This is a great way to have clients test your touch and perfect marketing for your confidence and skill as an bodyworker/LMT.

During this course you'll learn different restorative yoga poses, how to instruct students into those poses, and what areas of the body are available for massage with each pose. No prior yoga teaching or any teaching experience is needed for this course.

Your registration also includes a set of props for you and photos to use for future marketing of your class. Props include 2 yoga blankets, a yoga mat, bolster, blocks, and a lacrosse ball.

This course is open to LMT's and other practitioners who have the scope to manipulate tissues. This course is also limited to just 10 people.

Registration Deadline for this course is April 5th.

Sciatica - Lightning Leg

Dates: Jul. 29th 6-10pm

In this course we'll go over what sciatica is and the different ways it can show up in the body. We'll also go over indications, contraindications, and general client self care for the treatment of this issue.

Techniques will include a mix of deep tissue, myofascial release, PNF, neuromuscular therapy, stretches, exercises and more. We'll also go over communication and how to test ROM.

Low Back Pain - The curse of sitting

Dates: Feb. 12th 9am-1pm, Nov. 12th 9am-1pm

In this course we'll go over low back pain as it pertains to sitting. Muscles that are affected when our clients sit at their desks and how to treat and relieve their low back pain. We'll cover indications, contraindications, techniques, and communication around self care for your clients.

Techniques will include a mix of deep tissue, myofascial release, PNF, neuromuscular therapy, stretches, exercises and more. We'll also how to test ROM and posture.

Headaches - Releasing the vice

Dates: Mar. 5th 9am-1pm, Aug. 13th 9am-1pm, Nov. 18th 6-10pm

In this course, we'll go over some of the causes of tension and muscular headaches, indications, contraindications, and how to help treat and work with headaches caused by muscle tension, stress, and poor sleep and posture.

Techniques will include a mix of deep tissue, myofascial release, PNF, neuromuscular therapy, stretches, exercises and more. We'll also go over communication and how to test posture and ROM.

Glutes & Groin - Communication, Draping, & Techniques

Dates: Mar. 25th 6-10pm

In this course students will learn the anatomy and kinesiology of the glutes and adductors. We’ll go over trauma informed touch, communication, and how to work these more sensitive areas with confidence.

We’ll also go over draping, various techniques, body mechanics, and the various reasons these muscles are often overlooked, but so important to work.

Knees - A fully flawed joint

Dates: Apr. 9th 9am-1pm, Sept. 10th 9am-1pm

In this course, we'll go over the anatomy of the knee, issues that come about with muscular imbalances, common injuries, symptoms of certain types of knee pain, indications, and contraindications. We'll also cover knee surgery recovery timelines, issues, and working with whole knee replacements.

Techniques will include a mix of deep tissue, myofascial release, PNF, neuromuscular therapy, stretches, exercises and more. We'll also go over communication and how to test posture and ROM.

Facial Cupping & Gua Sha - Where spa meets function

Dates: May 14th 9am-1pm, Oct. 15th 9am-1pm

In this course you’ll learn how to use facial cups and a gua sha tool to give a spa-like relaxing treatment for the face, head, and neck. We’ll also go over how to incorporate these tools in a more treatment oriented way to help with TMJD, headaches, and more.

Tools will need to be purchased before the day of the class. Recommendations will be in the confirmation and reminder emails.

In this course, we'll go over what Thoracic Outlet is, it's potential causes, indications, contraindications, and how to help treat and work with TOS using manual manipulation, movement, and how to offer self care options for your client.

Plantar Fasciitis & Shin Splints - Running on pins & needles

Dates: Jul. 29th 6-10pm

In this course, students will learn the causes and symptoms of plantar fasciitis and shin splints. We’ll talk about the different types of self care clients can do, what we can offer as post treatment recommendations, and we’ll go over different techniques and modalities they can use to treat the foot and lower leg. You'll even learn how to KT tape for both shin splints and plantar fasciitis
